The UAE observes International Labour Day on 1 May every year. It aims to recognise the labourers' efforts across the nation.

Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation organises several events and programmes in association with different governmental and private entities to mark this day. Such occasions emphasise the UAE’s commitment to protect labour rights and motivate them, which in turn increases their productivity and contributes to the nation’s economic growth.

Programmes for International Labour Day include awareness and guidance sessions on labour rights, sports and cultural activities and free medical checkups.
